Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress born on November 19, 1959. For the past 30 years Janney's performances have earned appreciation on both screen and stage. Janney was awarded numerous awards including her Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. 7 Primetime Emmy Awards were also given to Janney. Also, she was in the running for 2 Tony Awards. Janney was born in Dayton, Ohio. She was born in and brought up in Boston. Following her graduation from Kenyon College, she received a full scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Her first television appearance was in 1999 when she portrayed C. J. Cregg on the political show NBC's The West Wing (from 1999 from 1999 to). She was awarded four Primetime Emmy Awards for the performance. Janney got the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding Actresses in Drama Series. She won this prize for her portrayal of Margaret Scully in Showtime's drama Masters of Sex. Janney has been nominated for six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she was awarded twice for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Shows.
